Adoring Looks

Brotherly love! Jordan adores his baby sister. He loves that he gets time with her by himself after everyone else leaves for school. Jordan is great with Addison.

First Aid

Our ward Young Men have the coolest president. Brother Lamb is a big kid who loves the gospel. I appreciate that he regularly shares his testimony (in word and example) while having a great time with the boys. Brother Lamb you amaze me!!

Brother Lamb is an eagle scout and gentle pushing the boys towards their eagles as well. Here Bro. Lamb is teaching the boys first aid. This took two weeks, but now most of the boys, including Jordan are certified. Jordan is the boy in the olive green shirt with his back turned to the camera.

Pottery

Morgan is in her second year of pottery at school. She loves is and spends a lot of time with clay. Here she is making a fountain.

Jordan started the pottery merit badge at scout camp this summer. The requirement he had left was to fire a kiln. The art teacher at his school agreed to let him fire their kiln, but Jordan needed a project to put in the kiln!

Morgan gave him some of her clay and showed him how to make a pinch pot.

Jordan's pinch pot is of a dragon coming out of an egg (not batman!)

With the extra clay Jordan made a music note paperweight. Good job Jordan. (These pictures were taken before the clay was fired in the kiln. Hopefully more pictures to come.)

Ward Variety Show

Tonight our ward had a variety show. Jordan played his clarinet, "Triumphal March". He did very well and recieved many compliments. (Raeleigh took this picture of Jordan.)

Stuart and Raeleigh participated in "Do As I'm Doing" with the primary. Raeleigh is leading the Jumping Jacks in the orange shirt and Stuart is behind her to the left in the teal/green shirt. They all did a good job and had a good time.

All the kids had a successful first day and are glad to be back in school and have a routine!

Jordan at Disney

This year Disney Theme Parks are doing a promotion to get in free on your birthday. So Craig and Jordan went to Magic Kingdom to celebrate Jordan's 13th birthday. Jordan was so excited to go.

Jordan just inside the park. Cinderalla's castle is in the background of this picture.

Riding the train, something you just have to do at disney.

Parades. They went to the afternoon parade and the evening parade.

Hum.... I can think of times I would have liked to have put Jordan in the stocks!:))

In front of Thunder Mountain.

Can you find Jordan on the thunder mountain ride?

On Tom Sawyer Island.

During the evening parade Ursula from the movie Little Mermaid, came up to Jordan and asked if he would be her friend. She said she would like to add him to her collection!!
Jordan had a great birthday!

Scout Camp

Craig and Jordan went to scout camp July 19-26. Camp LaNoche was the spot this year, same as last year. In this picture, the boys with birthdays in July were called up to celebrate. Jordan has on a hat and camo pants.

Bishop Smith helped the boys with crafts and prerequisites. He helped Jordan to make a cool pouch out of Rabbit fur. Jordan went to camp with his the money he had earned with the plan to make the pouch. Thanks Bishop for helping him to meet his goal.
Jordan and Craig had a good week. They of course home dirty and with lots of laundry, but it wouldn't be a scout outing if that wasn't the case!!

A Year Older

Thursday, Craig took Jordan to Disney World's Magic Kingdom for his 13th birthday. Saturday Craig and Jordan left for the week at scout camp. So Friday we celebrated Morgan and Jordan's birthdays. Craig and I took them to see the new Harry Potter Movie. They loved the movie, but wished it had been more like the book. Friday evening we had pizza, cake & ice cream, and presents. We didn't realize that we had no birthday candles, until we were ready to sing to the kids. So we improvised with a red tea light candle for each cake!
Jordan loves to draw, so Craig and I gave him soft pastels and a pastel sketch pad with colored paper. This brought a nice smile to his face.
My mom has continued with a tradition that her mother started. Each grandchild gets a check for their birthday. The dollar matches the childs age. My kids look forward to the birthday card with a check in it. They plan for what they want to spend their money on.
Jordan has been interested in dragons for several years. Grandma and Grandpap S gave him this cool book. He was also happy to hear from Grandma and Grandpa W.
Stuart and Raeleigh each gave gifts to the kids. So we had to take pictures with them too!
Morgan like most teenager girls likes to dress with accessories. Craig and I gave her a turtle necklace and bracelet, both made of stone. She is such a pretty girl.
We are blessed to have Morgan and Jordan in our family. They are both terrific people that bring good times and challenges to our lives!

Spring Concerts

Samantha and Jordan both had their Spring Band Concerts. It is so hard to take decent pictures of them on stage. So this time, I opted to take pics afterward.

Mr Kraus and Samantha after her last middle school concert. Mr Kraus has taught her a lot. Mostly she has enjoyed learning to play the kettle drums. She did get to play these in the concert, I think that was her favorite part. Samantha has improved in her musical ability over the middle school years. I am glad that she has played in the percussion section and had to learn so many different instruments.
This is Jordan at home after his concert. He is currently 4th chair in his class. Jordan was so happy the day he moved up to this chair, he has learned a lot this year. Jordan likes music and enjoys the sounds he can make with the clarinet.

Good job Samantha and Jordan!
