The Great Raingutter Rigatta

Last night was Stuart's first Raingutter Rigitta. He made the boat by himself, except the first layer of paint. Stuart is very pleased of how the boat looks. Stuart's boat was raced four times. He won, lost, won and lost the last race.

As you can see the cubs had two options for wind power, blowing through a straw or just blowing directly into the sail. During practice races, Stuart tried both styles of power. He decided that he preferred to blow directly into the sail. I think all the boys had tired cheeks after the races were over!

One of my favorite things about Stuart is that he cheers others on. Last night he was very intense in cheering his fellow cubs on. We could hear his voice over anyone else in the small crowd.

Stuart had a great time!

CHS Homecoming

Patrick and Craig about their schools homecoming week. Patrick has dressed up everyday except Wed. On Wednesday, he had a football game, so he had to wear his jersey.

Monday was color day, for sophmores that meant green. So here's Patrick in green which we thought made him look like a prisoner. So Craig has him make a sign with his "prison number and name".

Tuesday was nerd day. Here is Patrick's interpertation of a nerd...

Today is Spirit day. Craig brought home a wig for Patrick. We all thought it was funny when he put it on. So while he was outside on the phone, I sent Samantha out with the camera. As you can tell, the school colors are blue and gold. Go Craig!!

Hunsader Farm

This last week has been busy, as usual for our family. Saturday we went to Hunsader Farm in Bradenton, FL. It was a nice day, not to hot. Even Grandpap Smith came, we are glad he is recovering from his open heart surgery. Once we were all there we split up. This doesn't make much since to me, but this way everyone got to do what they wanted. Craig and I took Stuart, Raeleigh and our nephew Austin around. We played games, won prizes, saw the animals, rode the train, and saw the circus. Stuart and Austin also saw the Frog races. Craig took the three kids into the fire safety house. I couldn't go because the fake smoke would set off my asthma. Oh well. Austin came out of the house telling me about his fire sticker! Raeleigh loved the games. Stuart enjoyed learning to weave on the mid-evil loom.

We met up with Morgan and Jordan and had a picnic lunch at the truck. Of course the kids had to add potato chips to their sandwhiches for the crunch. After lunch, we wondered around the crafts tables and then headed home.

Why I have a blog

Morgan has been interested in a blog since this summer. I have been looking into the security of it. Yes I am a nervous Mom! My sister-in-law suggested that I just try it, so this is my try.

Raeleigh is home from school today. Yesterday she threwup in class and is still not feeling well. She doesn't have a fever, but is not her self. I feel bad for her. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.
